HELEN M. GARVIN AWARDS
Do you know someone who is a star or a rising star in the insurance industry? If so, consider nominating her for the New York City Chapter’s Helen M. Garvin Achiever Awards. Please click here for the

Each spring the National Association of Insurance Women – New York City honors two women for their contribution to the insurance industry with the Helen M. Garvin Outstanding Achiever Award and the Enterprising Achiever Award. These prestigious Awards are named after Helen M. Garvin who was a member of our industry, a founder of our association and dedicated to the advancement of professional insurance women. The two awards are outlined below:

Outstanding Achiever Award – will be given to a woman who has been in the industry for more than ten years, is a leader in the industry, is supportive of other women and is active in civic affairs.

Enterprising Achiever Award – will be given to a woman who has been in the industry for at least five years but less than ten years who is making a positive impact in her area of expertise and is supportive of other women in the industry.

Nominees could be working in New York City, Long Island, New Jersey or Connecticut and must not have been a recipient of a previous Helen M. Garvin Award in the past ten years.

Please join us in celebrating these women who are making a difference in the insurance industry by sending in your nomination(s). The Nomination Form for each Award is enclosed.

From the nominations received, our judges will select one individual for each Award who will be honored at our annual Industry Recognition Luncheon on Friday, May 2, 2008 at The Tribeca Rooftop in New York City. Each Honoree will be given an opportunity to make an acceptance speech upon receipt of their awards. They will also be featured in the Luncheon Journal.
